As of 2003, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the United States was struggling with their records storage program. Several of their departments were experiencing as low as 55% success rates on their retrieval requests with their off-site records management provider. In addition, this healthcare organization realized a reduction of approximately 20% in file storage volume due to the fact that the previous vendor had left empty space on the shelves in anticipation of needed growth.
